Mr. Bean Grand Opening in Malaysia

Do you know this adorable little character? It's Mr Bean! No, not the Rowan Atkinson Mr. Bean. This little cutie is the mascot for a leading chain soya bean food and beverage retailer from Singapore which has now expanded its footprints in China, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, and Yes!! Malaysia! I first saw it during my trip in Singapore about a year ago and I was drawn in by the cuteness of the cute mascot. Mr Bean offers a variety of soya bean drinks and snacks such as ice blended flavoured soya drinks, ice-cream, pancakes and more. Talk about a healthy alternative to a sweet and yummy drink.

Mr Bean Malaysia's grand opening was held on 24th June 2012 with lots of highlights such as lucky draws, gift bags, exciting games, meet and greet with Mr Bean, etc. The event was held at The Curve and is the first outlet in Malaysia.

The event started at 1pm and there was already a long line of people queuing up to buy drinks and snacks, and try their luck at the lucky draw.

While queuing up, some of the Mr Bean staff asked us to 'Like' their Facebook page, which I already did when they created the page = p , and you would get a RM2 voucher. Isn't it cute? Looks kind of like Monopoly money. XD

While the parents were queuing up and waiting for the lucky draw at 4pm, the kids could play some games on the Nintendo Wii. Look at the little girl go!

There was also a TV showing the ad for Mr Bean. Just look at the cuteness.

They also have Mr Bean merchandise that you can purchase. I bought one of the paper houses when I was in Singapore and I just had the get the other too.

And check out the pancakes. Cuteness!

Time to head for the lucky draw registration table. I was one of the lucky first 50 customers to get the Mr Bean merchandise Gift Bag full of cute stuff that you will see later on.

I just had to take a picture with this cutie!! Cuteness overload! I felt like kidnapping it.  >_<

There was also an acoustic performance to liven up the event.

Just look at this cheeky monkey.

I also got to take a picture with Mr Bean himself. Looks kind of weird, but he's still cute. LOL.

Even Mr Bean needs to take a break some times, especially after entertaining all the little kids around.

I just had to get myself a balloon. You guys know how crazy I am about balloons.  XD

4pm and time for the lucky draw! Sadly, I wasn't one of the winners. And it's a wonder why all three winners were guys. What is with that? LOL.

Well, although I did not win any of the prizes, I still got some gifts bags, a balloon, pictures with all the cuteness around and I had lots of fun.

And here's what was in the gift bags. Pins, a magnet, more vouchers, and some wasabi and curry soya bean snacks?? I wonder what the taste will be like. Kind of scared to touch the wasabi one. LOL. XD

And here is a clear picture of the paper house. I bought the blue candy one in Singapore and the green cupcake one here. So totally cute~~

And I shall stop here... and maybe try some of that wasabi soya bean.

Jayesslee Live in KL 2012

I went for the Jayesslee concert at Dewan Wawasan, Menara PGRM last Saturday and it was such a great show! Totally awesome! If you do not know who Jayesslee is, they are comprised of Korean twins, Janice and Sonia, whom garnered followers from their cover of Tamia's "Officially Missing You" with currently over 12 million hits. You can also check out their latest cover of Payphone by Maroon 5 (which I so totally love by the way) garnered over 3 million hits within just 3 weeks.

And a big thanks to Advertlets for holding a contest to win tickets to see the twins live and super big thanks to my friend Shu Ni for her winning comment and all her friends and mine as well for voting. Thanks so much!

I arrived at the venue around half past 4 and there were already people waiting in line to enter the room.

They were even selling Jayesslee merchandise. Jayesslee T-Shirts for RM80 each, Jayesslee Posters for RM20 each and Light Sticks.

Finally got the complimentary tickets from Advertlets. Thank you very much. ^_^

Before the concert, they had a small press conference in the other room. Fans were screaming when they passed by to go into the room. Aren't they pretty?

Finally got into the hall. We ran as fast as we could to get the best seats. We were in the middle. v^_^v

First opening act was Alexis, Anthony and Phobe with "Rolling In The Deep". You can check out the video here at Alexis' Facebook page.

Next opening act Ming and Charis performing a mash-up of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" and Maroon 5's "Payphone". Check out their Youtube channels at dmingthing and charisowTV.

Third opening act was by Leon Marcus Zachary who performed a solo song called "Superhero" and later performed a duet of Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away" with Miss Cheerio.

Dan dan dan!! Time for the twins to perform! The crowd went crazy with screaming fans.

Usually when you go into a concert like this, you would not be able to take any picture or videos especially with your DSLR camera. So the staff from Creative Central had to fasten our bags with cable ties. But the twins were so nice that they allowed us to take pictures and film the first 2 songs that they perform. I don't know why I can't upload the video, some technical problem. >_<

This is a list of the other songs that they sang:
Simple Plan ft. Natasha Bedingfield - Jetlag
OneRepublic - Secrets
Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up
Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars - Safe & Sound
(Janice called the Hunger Games "Hungry Games".  XD)
P.Diddy ft. Skylar Grey - I'm Coming Home
Starfield - Cry In My Heart
MissA - Good Bye Baby (They sang in Korean!)
The Katinas - Thank You
Maroon 5 - Payphone
Jayesslee Original - Failure In disguise
Amazing Grace
Switchfoot - Dare You To Move

And for their Encore performance, Jessie J - Price Tag. You could feel the energy and excitement in the room. It was great! And you have got to love they way they sing Christian songs with so much passion and soul. You can't help but stop clapping and cheering and just listening to their voices and nothing else.

A clear picture of the backdrop.

The meet and greet for the VVIP ticket holders were at the other end of the concert hall. Check out the line.

Next time for sure I am definitely going to get the VVIP tickets fast! Nothing will get in my way! Saving up money. XD

Oh! And get ready for the mini album that is going to come soon! ^_^

Check out Jayesslee's website, Facebook , Twitter and YouTube to know more about them and listen to their cover songs.
